Pythagorean Theorem Murder Mystery
1) Rewrite the standard in your own words. How does this assignment relate to the standard?
The standard was 8.G.7 which was Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to determine unknown side lengths in right triangles in real-world and mathematical problems in two and three dimensions. In my own words it means to use two or three dimensions equations to solve real world problems. The assignment relates to the standard because we had equations to use two and three dimensional equations to solve a murder mystery. The equation we had to use to solve the problems were A^2+B^2=C^2.This was used to solve a real world problem like who killed some one. This is how the project Pythagorean Theorem Murder Mystery relates to the standard 8.G.7.
2) What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
The steps I used to complete this project was that first I had to solve the equations to see which one was the correct one. Then I had to write a paragraph on a police report about how the person killed the person and how that person could have done it.I then had to draw a picture representing each person and what tower they were on.I also had to color it to make it look good so that I could have got a good score on the project. These are the steps I took to to complete this project and to get a good grade on it.
3) This assignment demonstrates the following strengths...
The assignment demonstrates the strength that I know the equation for a 2 dimensional object. This project also have the strength that.you know how to write a paragraph on a fictional event involving scientific words and equations.I also got the strength that I know how draw a picture showing a murder scene of some who did and who did it. This is how the project demonstrates these following strengths.
4) I could have improved my work on this assignment by...
Even though I got a 10/10 I could have improved this by adding more detail in the police report because I didn't make it creative all did was write whatever that I needed to write down.I could also made it creative by giving all the drawing guns and mad it look liked they all missed.Instead all I did was put a dead body on all the pictures and only gave the person who killed him a gun. This is how I could have improved this assignment.
5) How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I can use the skills I learned from this in the real world to build building because I need to know if the building have a good way to wist stand it's weight.I can also use this if I am stuck on a island I can use this to help me become a better hunter with a bow so that I could get food.I can also use this to be a detective if I need to figure out which building the person shoot from to find my evidence.I can also use this in other classes if I need to use this equation again. This is how I can use the skills I learned from this project in the real world.
