My name is Ruth Kim and I am the 6-7 ELA Teacher at Rise Kohyang Middle School. I graduated from UC Irvine in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Minor in Education. In the Spring of 2009, I received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Cal State Fullerton. I was a part of the art-integration block and have subject matter authorization in English. In addition to my credential, I received my BCLAD authorization in Korean. I was a student teacher for 2nd and 5th grade in Centralia USD and Los Alamitos USD. At Los Alamitos USD, I was also a summer school teacher and a substitute.
This is my second year at Rise and I love it here! I look forward to the upcoming writing exams, novels, LELs, and memories. It will be a time of new beginnings and experiences for many of you. I always believe in working hard and playing hard. We will work our hardest in the classroom to be able to play our hardest outside of it.
One of my favorite things to do is travel. Some recent trips were to New York, France, Spain, Czech Rep., Korea, Thailand, and Costa Rica. I also enjoy finding new places to eat, going to museums, and discovering new authors and books for my Kindle. My name is Ruth Kim and I am the 6-7 ELA Teacher at Rise Kohyang Middle School.
