Country Scientific Notation Project
1) Rewrite the standard in your own words. How does this assignment relate to the standard?
8.EE.4 Perform operations with numbers expressed in scientific notation, including problems where both decimal and scientific notation are used. Use scientific notation and choose units of appropriate size for measurements of very large or very small quantities (e.g., use millimeters per year for seafloor spreading) .The assignment relates to the standard because we had to show the population of the country and the capital using scientific notations, decimals and equations.
2) What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
1)First we had to pick a country we wanted to do
2)Then we had to find the population of the country,it's capital and USA population
3)After that we had to find the difference of that country and the U.S.A
4)Then we had to transfer all the information onto a poster
5)Last but not least we had to decorate the poster
3) This assignment demonstrates the following strengths...
This project shows that I can use scientific notation to relate population between country's and to find out how many people live in that country and in the capital.
4) I could have improved my work on this assignment by...
I could have improved this project by making the poster more creative and by making the paper have better information and by making the math a little bit more specific.
5) How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I can apply what i learned from this assignment into the real world if i ever need to figure out how much or how many of something there is like how much rhinos are left in the world by using scientific notation to make the number smaller or easier to read.
